Help your English language learners thrive in the math classroom!

In learning about the role that language and culture play in learning mathematics, participants will gain the knowledge and tools needed to create a supportive learning environment and foster success for ELLs.

In addition, participants will understand how to plan and implement math instruction for ELLs and develop competency with TESOL’s PreK-12 English Language Proficiency Standards (2006) and the Common Core State Standards in Mathematics (CCSS) to support ELLs’ academic language proficiency.

The course is divided into four modules:

Module 2: The Role of Language & Culture in Learning Mathematics
Module 3: Planning & Implementing Instruction for English Language Learners
Module 4: Assessment of Mathematical Knowledge
